GDayX Mindanao attendees rave about it online

All roads led to the Trade Hall at the 3rd floor of SM City General Santos on Saturday, November 16, 2013 as it was the day of the biggest Google Event in Southern Philippines, GDayX Mindanao!

Hosted by Google Business Group - General Santos, led by Blogger and Social Media Consultant Avel Manansala and his motley crew of young, dynamic and brilliant "generals", GDayX Mindanao which is a Google-supported event, gathered 400 business owners, entrepreneurs, educator, employees and students who all share something in common - they all want to be "googlified".   That's slang for wanting to know more about Google apps and products  and the positive effects it could serve on their careers, professions, businesses and lives.

SM City opened its doors as early as 7:30am for the participants who immediately lined up to be the first 150 registrants who were promised to receive the official GDayX T-shirts.  In less than an hour, the whole Trade Hall of the mall was filled up with 400 excited people, some who had to travel all the way from Davao, North Cotabato, Sarangani and Bukidnon.

These were the lucky ones because for one day, they were treated to inspiring talks and brilliant sharings of 14 awesome speakers from Google and Google Communities all over, on the gospel of Google.  There were three tracks in the afternoon;  Entrepreneurs Track, Educators Track and Students Track with four sessions each, so there was something for everyone.

Making sure that the participants would also realize that host GBG GenSan is not only the Philippines #1 GBG group but also its funnest is Master of Ceremonies Orman Manansala who had them all in stitches all throughout the gatherings.  Of course, nobody went home empty-headed especially for those who won the raffles and trivia games, who were gifted with Google shwags.

Here's what everyone shared online via Storify.com....

  1. Thanks so much for the great day there. Just one little request: Next time can there be T-Shirts for every participant? That would be really great because I think 150 T-Shirts for 300 people is not so fair. :)
